Origins and Sound

Mike Morgan, born in Dallas in 1959, began his musical journey with influences like Otis Redding and Wilson Pickett. A pivotal moment came in 1985 when he discovered Stevie Ray Vaughan's Texas Flood, steering him toward blues. By 1986, Morgan had returned to Dallas, where he met Darrell Nulisch. Together, they formed The Crawl, quickly gaining recognition for their authentic blues sound. After Nulisch's departure in 1989, McBee joined, bringing a dynamic energy that propelled the band to national prominence.

The Road (1998)

Released in 1998, The Road is a standout album in the band's discography. Featuring guest appearances by Lee McBee, the album showcases the band's signature blend of Texas blues and soul. Recorded at Sumet-Bernet Studios in Dallas and Ultransonic Studios in New Orleans, it captures the raw energy and emotion that defines their sound.

Over the years, Mike Morgan & The Crawl have released several acclaimed albums, including Texas Man (2002), Live in Dallas (2004), and Stronger Every Day (2008). In 2022, they released The Lights Went Out in Dallas, marking their first album in 15 years.
