Kevin Burt is a self-taught musician whose smooth, warm vocal presentation sets a mood of relaxed exhilaration. For more than 25 years, Kevin has been electrifying audiences throughout the Midwest, dispelling the myth that true blues has no roots in Iowa. His soul-inspired presentation is unique, which consistently gets him compared to a range of artists like Bill Withers and Aaron Neville, with the ability to build an audience rapport that has been compared to B.B. King.

A Musical Journey Rooted in Iowa

Raised in Waterloo, Iowa, Kevin Burt initially pursued a career in football before an unexpected opportunity led him to discover his passion for music. A chance audition for a blues band set him on a path that would see him become a fixture in the Iowa blues scene. Over the years, he has performed between 325 and 400 shows annually, captivating audiences with his powerful voice and engaging stage presence.

International Recognition

In 2018, Kevin Burt achieved international acclaim by winning the Solo/Duo category at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis. He also received the Cigar Box Guitar Award and the Lee Oskar Harmonica Award, solidifying his reputation as a top-tier blues artist.

Recent Work

On January 5, 2024, Kevin Burt released his latest album, Thank You, Brother Bill: A Tribute to Bill Withers, through Gulf Coast Records. This album showcases his soulful interpretations of Bill Withers' classic songs, highlighting his deep connection to the music and his ability to bring a fresh perspective to timeless tunes.
